Why Viaducto?

A viaduct is a series of bridges & passages that connect one place with another. These pathways go through valleys, rivers and ravines. In theory a viaduct is the most efficient and safest way to travel from one place to another.

A viaduct starts at Point A and ends in Point B. If the team is not aligned on where Point B is located you are simply laying brick.

A viaduct is a fantastic simile for product management. You will know the origin and the final destination. In your path you’ll encounter valleys, plateaus, rivers and ravines between your current and future state. You’ll have to answer questions like why, how, what and is it worth the effort. I added the “o”, because Spanish is my mother tongue.

What can you expect from Viaducto.io?

Viaducto.io is a newsletter/blog where I’ll share product management thoughts and frameworks. Most of the posts will be around breaking down the silo, organizing information and building high performance teams. Some of these ideas and frameworks and techniques will be mine, most of them won’t.

My real name is Raul

I am a Product Manager with a passion for delivering valuable and feasible software solutions. I abstract and reframe feature and business requests into root problems and building blocks. This holistic view enables me to either deploy a quick and dirty fix, or an elegant solution based on technical, financial and time constraints.

I believe product management is a team sport. My role is to rally the team around a goal, to create winning procedures, and to build trust. I promote strong partnerships across departments and align teams on a shared vision. I have had the privilege to start and grow multiple multi-disciplinary teams.

After 7 years of product management experience, I decided to start this newsletter/blog. I finally believe I have enough experience to create non-derivative insights. My career has allowed me to work with diverse companies, ranging from start-ups and creative agencies to established companies. This exposure has exposed me to different approaches to problem-solving.

Most importantly, I am passionate about building products that make a positive impact on people’s lives and communities. I strive to create ethical, intuitive, beautiful, and user-centric experiences. I believe customer-centricity, collaboration, and quality deliverables are paramount for product success.

My Point B

My Point B is to be able to build better Fintech products and services to create a fairer society.
